Occupy Wall Street protester Kelly Heresy appeared on Countdown with Keith Olbermann on Monday to discuss the clashes between New York police officers and the demonstrators.

“We are not against the cops,” he said. “The cops are part of the 99 percent. The cops, we would like to believe, are on our side. Because we understand that they have families, they have children, and with budget cuts they could be losing their jobs and pensions as well.”

Heresy added it was “too bad” that the protesters had to be “assaulted by police” to get the attention of the media.
