In a video that’s gone viral over the Internet this week, a young woman in her 20′s hears her own voice for the first time. But be forewarned: it’s a tearjerker.

YouTube user sloanchurman explains: “I was born deaf and 8 weeks ago I received a hearing implant. This is the video of them turning it on and me hearing myself for the first time.”

This video was published to YouTube on Sept. 26, 2011.
