In Stephen Colbert’s world, NBA players aren’t the only things being locked out at the moment.
The Colbert Report host revealed Monday evening that ABC Dallas affiliate WFAA have not aired the latest commercial from his Super PAC centered on defending the NBA owners. The ad emphasizes to the fans that the owners are working hard, “So you want have to watch hockey.”
Colbert was obviously not pleased over the development. “WFAA, you have f–ked with the wrong man,” he said.
Demanding a reasoning for this, the Comedy Central personality received a statement from the station’s sales manager.
“Here’s an explanation for what happened, I can’t explain what happened,” he said while reading a few excerpts from the letter.
Colbert hopes that his commercial could lead to a resolution in the ongoing battle between the players and owners. But it likely appears annual games on a special holiday won’t happen for this year.
“Basketball on Christmas is tradition, dating back to the birth of Christ, when the wise men for the babe in sweatily clothes and shot him out of a T-shirt cannon,” Colbert said.
