A woman told police that she was raped at the “Occupy Cleveland” protests last Saturday evening.

According to the CBS affiliate in Cleveland, the 19-year-old college student told police that the incident happened in her tent at the protest site. She was asked if she could share her tent with the suspect, who identified himself as “Leland” due to a shortage of tents.

The student reported the incident to a teacher on Monday, leading to the teacher to contact authorities.

On their website, Occupy Cleveland has posted a description of “Leland,” as well as the Cleveland police investigator’s contact information for anyone who has additional information.

“Occupy Cleveland takes the safety and wellbeing of participants very seriously,” the group said in a statement on their website. “As a group we are committed to creating a safe space for all occupiers and anyone who takes part in the movement.”
