On Wednesday’s Colbert Report, host Stephen Colbert dedicated his nightly “The Word” segment to the question of income inequality. The segment, entitled “Bite the hand that feeds you”, suggests that the best answer ultimately may be for poor people to become rich people’s pets. Poor people would have lots of room to run and play, plenty of exercise, and our meals would contain “real chunks of beef lip”. And we might even be lucky enough to get health insurance as part of the deal.

Hey, it’s a living.
