Russia Today’s progressive talk show host Thom Hartmann on Tuesday accused Fox News of inspiring multiple domestic terrorists in recent years.

“Why does Sarah Palin herself think America is imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who target their own country,” he asked. “After all, she is a paid employee of GOP TV — also known as Fox so-called News — and Fox is pretty well connected with some deranged terrorists.”

Hartmann noted that four members of a fringe militia used a book written by Fox News “expert” Mike Vanderboegh as a basis for a plot to commit domestic terrorism. The four men planned to kill government officials and spread terror with guns, explosives and the toxin ricin.

He also blamed Fox host Bill O’Reilly for inspiring the 2009 assassination of George Tiller, a Kansas physician who performed late-term abortions. O’Reilly repeatedly demonized “Tiller the baby-killer” for “executing fetuses.”

Hartmann continued, pointing out that Byron Williams, who engaged in a 12-minute shootout with California Highway Patrol in 2010, said then-Fox host Glenn Beck’s was his inspiration. Williams had planned to attack the San Francisco ACLU and Tides Foundation.
