On Monday night’s show, Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert reported on allegations that one CBS analyst admitted Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann would only get a few questions during last Saturday’s debate because her low poll numbers were “nearly off the charts.”
“The big news is that a woman was mistreated and Herman Cain had nothing to do with it,” Colbert joked.
CBS’s John Dickerson made the mistake of hitting “reply all” in his email response about Bachmann participating in a post-debate interview.
“Okay, let’s keep it loose though since she’s not going to get many questions and she’s nearly off the charts in the hopes that we can get someone else,” he wrote.
Upon seeing the email, Bachmann campaign director Keith Nahigian stormed into the spin room in a rage, according to CNN.
“John Dickerson should be fired,” Nahigan exclaimed. “He is a piece of shit. He is a fraud and he should be fired.”
“To add insult to injury, a piece of shit is polling higher than Michele Bachmann,” Colbert observed. “Every day the liberal mainstream media denies airtime to millions of people who will not be president.”
