Stephen Colbert continued his defense of Herman Cain Tuesday evening, begging the troubled GOP presidential candidate to stay in the race despite a new woman alleging a consensual affair with him for 13 years.

“Now technically, I believe we are now up to ‘He said, she said, she said, she said, she said, she was paid not to say,’” The Colbert Report host said. “Herman, don’t you leave this election lover’s pizza half baked. I’m saying this not just as a supporter, but as a broadcaster, I need you in the race.”

Pointing to a photo of Mitt Romney, Colbert pleaded the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO to not “leave me with him” before providing more reasons for him to remain campaigning.

“A 13 year affair just proves you can carry on a stable relationship — two counting your marriage,” he said. “If these allegations prove true, that means you are just only one extra-martial affair behind Newt Gingrich.”
