In an interview with MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell on Thursday night, the woman who accused presidential hopeful Herman Cain of having a long-term affair described their relationship and apologized to Cain’s family.

Ginger White on Monday claimed she had a 13-year affair with Cain, whose campaign has already been hurt by a rash of sexual harassment allegations.

“I am not a coldhearted person,” she said. “I’m a mother of two kids, and of course my heart bleeds for this woman. I’m a woman, and being in a situation like this cannot be fun.”

“I am deeply, deeply sorry if I have caused any hurt to her, to his kids, to his family. That was not my intention. I never wanted to hurt anyone.”

“It wasn’t a love affair,” she told O’Donnell. “It was a sexual affair, as hard as that is for me to say and as hard as it is for people to hear it. You know, it pretty much is what it is. And that’s what it was.”

Cain has defiantly denied the allegations.
