Last night, a group of peaceful protesters crashed the set of an ‘Occupy Wall Street’-themed episode of the long-running TV show “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.” According to The Huffington Post, the show’s producers constructed a replica in New York City’s Foley Park of the Zuccoti Park encampment where the protest movement was born, complete with matching signs, a “People’s Kitchen” and “People’s Library”.

Protesters arrived on the set late Thursday night and were driven out by police by 1 a.m. Friday. According to Han Shan, a representative of the OWS press team, the action was fueled by a sense that the “Occupy Wall Street” movement, which Shan calls a “very real, very living movement” was being exploited by the show as cheap grist for a sensationalized story-line.
