MSNBC host Rachel Maddow on Wednesday night mocked Sarah Palin for criticizing President Obama’s Christmas cards.

The cards showed a picture of Bo, the Obama family’s dog, near a fireplace in a decorated room. Palin told Fox News that the cards were “odd” because they highlighted Obama’s dog rather than traditions like “family, faith and freedom.”

But Maddow pointed out that former Presidents George Bush and Ronald Reagan sent out Christmas cards that did not highlight Christmas as well. One of Bush’s Christmas cards included his dogs, too.

“Turns out almost every White House Christmas card features some picture of the White House,” Maddow remarked. “Of a room in the White House — or dogs.”

“Which is not a source of outrage to Fox when another president does it, but it is a source of outrage to Fox and Governor Palin when this president does it.”

She then went on to show pictures of the Christmas cards sent out by the Fox Business Network and Fox News, neither of which were very “Christmasy.”
