A Florida family received quite the surprise in their backyard pool Monday afternoon.

Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue captured a 13-foot Burmese python swimming in the pool. Capt. Jeffrey Foob told NBC Miami the python would be used to train authorities for future sneak captures.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Burmease pythons are commonly found in South Florida. This past October, one python made headlines by eating a 76 pound deer.
