Just when he was settled on Mitt Romney being the GOP presidential nominee, Jon Stewart’s excitement level went up multiple notches Monday evening in analyzing Newt Gingrich’s win in South Carolina.
Stewart was particularly intrigued at Gingrich’s excoriation of John King at the CNN debate, when he labeled the journalist’s question about him requesting an “open marriage” with his 2nd wife as “despicable.”
“As close to despicable as you could imagined?” he asked. “You imagine your wife while she was dealing with having MS (multiple sclerosis) would be open to you having sex with another lady you’ve been already having sex with for six f—king years. I think you have a plenty good imagination despicability wise.”
Stewart was also incredulous on Gingrich presenting himself a Washington “outsider.”
“You’re not a Washington insider? he asked. “You, the former Speaker of the House and Freddie Mac consulting millionaire, are the Washington insider. When Washington gets its prostate checked, it tickles you!”
