Jon Stewart on Monday evening compared the duel between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich ahead of the Florida GOP presidential primary to the famous fighting video game “Mortal Kombat.”

The Daily Show host was first intrigued by Gingrich’s confidence in believing he would not only have one, but two terms in office, including proposing to have a colony on the moon.

“By the end of my third term, I would have shaved the sides of Michigan so that it looks like it’s flipping off aliens,” Stewart joked. “By my fifth term, I would have fed the nation’s poor with the cheap food stuff made from their own children. And by my seventh term, I would have trained cats to do the jobs that immigrants do.”

But Stewart was keen to show Romney fighting back at Gingrich to regain the lead in Florida, comparing the former Massachusetts governor’s attacks to blows thrown in a “Mortal Kombat” fight.

“It’s nearly over, time for perhaps one more move,” he said. “Finish him.”
