In the wake of the Floriday primary on Tuesday, The Daily Show on Wednesday took a look at the results. Romney’s decisive victory over Newt Gingrich, said host Jon Stewart, has prompted the roll-out of the “General Election Romney.”

“It’s always exciting to see a new Romney. I wonder what this one will be like,” he quipped.

He went on to play excerpts of both candidates’ speeches, including Newt Gingrich’s slightly bizarre list of plans for his first night in office as the new president, complete with a list of measures he intends to enact before he and Callista head off to the inaugural balls.

It would seem, Stewart said, that the former Speaker of the House has confused the Florida primary with the general election and thinks that he’s won instead of “getting his ass kicked.”
