The Colbert super PAC has netted more than one million dollars, according to its Federal Election filing. On Thursday night’s episode of The Colbert Report, host Stephen Colbert confirmed that viewers “gave until it hurt,” although some, he said, apparently have a very low threshold for pain.

Some 1,600 donors gave one dollar each, Colbert noted. “Who knows how much that adds up to?” he jokingly asked.

He then brought out the PAC’s political consultant “Ham Rove” to join him in announcing that the committee will be spending its million dollars on the new Internet meme, “cat breading.”

“I haven’t figured out how to monetize it yet,” he said, “but that’s what they said about Twitter.”
