On Thursday night’s edition of The Colbert Report host Stephen Colbert performed a feat we are not likely to see repeated by any other TV host, network or cable, serious or satirical. At the end of a segment featuring Spanish tenor Placido Domingo, Colbert and the singer performed a famous duet from Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Rigoletto.”

Wearing a formal white tie and tails, the host acquitted himself rather admirably. He sang the lower, baritone part, but more than held his own alongside one of the most famous opera singers in the world.
