The Daily Show host Jon Stewart on Tuesday night joked that Mitt Romney made his job “way too easy.”

Romney has condemned his rival Rick Santorum for urging Democrats in Michigan to vote for him in the Republican primary, calling the move “dirty tactics” and “disgusting.”

“What are the odds of a tape existing of Mitt Romney endorsing that very same practice?” Stewart wondered.

He then played two clips of Romney from 2007 in which he admitted to cross-party voting in Democratic primaries himself “in a gleeful girly voice.”

Stewart then turned to Fox News’ coverage of the recent economic upswing. He noted the Republican National Convention sent out a pundit memo to “mitigate any damage that may be occurring from the improved economy.”

It just so happens, Fox News host Steve Doocy actually read the memo on the air.

“You just gave the game away,” Stewart said. “You know they sent out these talking points, which brings up a point I’d like to talk about.”
