GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum was declared the winner of the Kansas caucuses Saturday afternoon by a comfortable margin, becoming the eight state captured by the former Pennsylvania senator.

The result was expected as Santorum polled favorably in the state as he emerged in the race as frontrunner Mitt Romney’s latest rival. Santorum will receive at least 20 of the state’s 40 delegates, although the complexion of the race  still firmly remains in Romney’s control based on his wide margin in the overall delegate count.

Romney, who did not campaign in Kansas, was declared the winner of the Guam Caucasus early Saturday morning.
