On his show Monday night, Jon Stewart took on the “Kony 2012″ viral video, which called for greater efforts to arrest the fugitive head of Uganda’s Lord’s Resistance Army.

“The media just seems annoyed that it took this guy to get people to listen,” he joked.

Both CNN’s Anderson Cooper and ABC News’ Jake Tapper noted that they had reported on the atrocities committed by the LRA, but the public took little interest.

“I mean what the fuck?” Stewart mockingly said. “I mean, we’re handsome, we’re on TV, why won’t Rihanna retweet our Kony stories?”

“It’s because we stopped listening to the news media around the same time you went Princess Leia on your election coverage,” he rhetorically responded, playing a clip of CNN showing off their hologram machine. “Help us Internet, you’re our only hope.”
