Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) decided to poke some fun at the GOP presidential candidates with a few colorful jokes Sunday morning, with probably the best saved for Rick Santorum.

At a St. Patrick’s Day event in South Boston, the Massachusetts senator was intrigued over Santorum and Newt Gingrich receiving secret service on the campaign trail. Brown saw an opening to make the audience laugh based on Santorum’s hard line positions on social issues, particularly on contraception usage.

“I’m hopeful that all of you are actually following presidential politics,” he said.
“I see that both Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum now have secret service with them on the campaign trail and in Santorum’s case, I think it’s the first time he’s actually ever used protection. So yeah, yeah. Just saying.”
