Stephen Colbert displayed urgency in discussing the ongoing conspiracy of President Barack Obama taking away people’s guns Tuesday evening, calling it “the end of the Republic.”

Colbert mentioned a Fox News segment where anchor Megyn Kelly suggested an Obama re-election has led to an increase in gun sales.

“The fear of not being able to buy guns has led to buying so many guns that now we can’t buy any guns just like we feared,” Colbert said.

“I know what you’re thinking, ‘Colbert is being irrational.’ Oh really, it’s happened before. In 2008, when people brought guns before Obama took office, because they knew he’d passed harsh gun regulations, which he didn’t. And I will not fall for it again, Mr. President. Because we are one step ahead of where you are planning not to go.”
