Forced-birth champion and Jesus enthusiast Kirk Cameron has been promoting his new anti-choice film that nobody cares about on some television network that nobody watches. In an interview with some guy no one’s ever heard of, Kirk Cameron opined that the US of A is in danger of giving rise to a dictator. We’re headin’ on down to Nazitown!
“He was promising them hope and he was saying he was going to turn things around,” Cameron said.“It’s just chilling to me because — you gotta be careful — but I think of our country right now,” he added. “We’re not billions of dollars in debt, we’re trillions of dollars in debt. We’re $16 trillion in debt and we want to turn things around. You’ve got to be careful because this is sort of the condition that could provide the platform for someone to step up like that and say, I’ll give you back your dignity, I’ll give you back your this and your that.”
Look, I’m not going to take seriously anything that a guy who pals around with people who think bananas are an “atheist’s nightmare” has to say.
It’s a gottdamn banana, jackass — not the Ark of the Covenant.
ABL aka Angry Black Lady aka Imani Gandy is a recovering attorney with a burning love of fire and perfectly-constructed sentences. The “anger” portion of her moniker stems not from her displeasure at the hellscape that American politics has become, but rather is a symptom of the pituitary tumor which has been indefinitely detained in her brain since 2006. When she’s not pointing out that people are wrong on the Internet – or writing for Balloon Juice, The Grio, The Team Uterati Wiki Project, or RH Reality Check -- she likes long sits on the beach. Also, she thinks gravity is a real downer. You can follow her on Twitter at @AngryBlackLady.
