Stephen Colbert was so eager Tuesday evening to discuss Sen. Chuck Grassley’s (R-IA) calling President Barack Obama “stupid” on Twitter that he decided to read the Senator’s grammatically challenged account.
“Folks, this isn’t just tweeting, this is avant-garde, stream of consciousness poetry,” he said. ”It’s Jack Kerouac typing On The Road with his thumbs. How does he do it? Is he in a trance? Does he rub tuna on his iPhone and let his cat have at it?
So inspired by the senator’s tweeting style, Colbert issued a ‘Grassley-esque tweet,’ saying, “i m so xitEd 2 twt l1ke mY h3ro gr asslee u ess A!!! you ez Ey!! Colbert followed the message with the hashtag #igotthetweetslikegrassley, using it in multiple tweets afterwards.
