Thursday night on “The Colbert Report,” host Stephen Colbert took on the flap about Democratic strategist Hillary Rosen’s remark that Ann Romney, wife of ex-Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, has “never worked a day in her life.”
Colbert said that like many people, he has a personal stake in this story, “because I have a mom, my mom, who I’m related to on my mother’s side.” He says that his mother was a stay-at-home mom of eleven kids, “which would make her twice as lazy as Ann Romney.”
His advice to Rosen was to drop this particular tactic post-haste because if there’s one thing that’s never worked a day in its life, it’s attacking motherhood.
