The Space Shuttle Discovery made its final flight Tuesday morning aboard a modified Boeing 747 to Dulles International Airport in Washington D.C., traveling to its future home at The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.

The flight began at 7 a.m. at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, and arrived in the D.C. area three hours later.

A number of observers watched the spaceship’s last flight arrive in the capital area as Discovery flew at a low 1,500 ft above ground.
