Fans of the series “The West Wing” will recall that some of the show’s best moments were the “walk and talk” sequences, where cast members would begin a conversation on the go from one meeting or location to another, often adding and losing participants as the discussion evolved on its way through the winding warren of halls and passageways of the White House.

The segment were often like a combination of a round of high-speed freeze tag and “telephone,” the game where a word or phrase gets whispered from one person’s ear to another until at the other end, it’s all but unrecognizable. The snappy dialogue and rapid-fire pacing were a hallmark of producer Aaron Sorkin’s style and similar sequences have been popping up in new shows like ABC’s “Scandal,” a series about a Beltway “fixer” who handles crises for the some of most powerful people in the world.

In the clip below, embedded via “Funny or Die,” the cast of “The West Wing,” including Allison Janney, Joshua Malina, Dule Hill, Melissa Fitzgerald, William Duffy, and President Bartlett himself, Martin Sheen, are reunited for a “walk and talk” about a very important initiative: Get America walking.
