George Zimmerman, the shooter of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, made disparaging remarks about Mexicans and his ex-girlfriend on a 2005 MySpace page discovered Tuesday evening, according to The Miami Herald.
Zimmerman’s page contains heavy usage of slang words, especially in the “About Me” section.
“I dont miss driving around scared to hit mexicans walkin on the side of the street [sic],” he wrote. “Soft ass wanna be thugs messin with peoples cars when they aint around (what are you provin, that you can dent a car when no ones watchin) dont make you a man in my book. Workin 96 hours to get a decent pay check, gettin knifes pulled on you by every mexican you run into!”
The authenticity of the page has been confirmed by Zimmerman’s attorney Mark O’Mara. It also features photos showing Zimmerman with a diverse group of friends and a post about his 2005 domestic violence case that refers to his ex-fiancée as his “ex-hoe.” Zimmerman was charged with two felonies counts, but they were reduced to one misdemeanor charge and no criminal conviction on his record.
Zimmerman described himself as Latino/Hispanic in the “Details” section on the page. O’Mara, who has allowed the creation of a Zimmerman legal defense Facebook page, said that his client abandoned the page in 2005. Zimmerman is currently facing second degree murder for killing Martin on February 26th.
