Beastie Boys founder Adam Yauch dies at 47
Adam Yauch, a founding member of pioneering rap and rock group the Beastie Boys has died at the age of 47, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The Brooklyn-born performer, who was known to fans as “MCA,” was diagnosed with cancer and treated for tumorous growths on his partoid gland and a lymph node in 2009. He underwent surgery and radiation treatments, but passed away today. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
