Police: On-duty Secret Service agent involved in fatal accident
Police said Friday that an as-yet unidentified Secret Service agent struck a pedestrian with his car on Thursday afternoon, and she died a short time later.
The agent remained on the scene and cooperated with authorities, according to NBC New York. His victim, 47-year-old Maria Tripp, from Brooklyn, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Police said the agent had a green light at the time of the accident. An investigation was still underway.
