Police near Houston, Texas on Wednesday arrested a man for riding his unicycle naked over the Kemah Bridge.
Kemah officials told KPRC that police began getting calls at about 1:30 p.m. after 45-year-old Joseph Farley stripped off his clothes at the base of the bridge. The man had been seen riding the unicycle over the bridge during the last several weeks, but never naked.
Farley was taken into custody and charged with indecent exposure. Bond was set at $1,500. Police indicated that the former teacher was not impaired or drunk.
“He said that he liked the way that it felt,” Kemah Police Chief Greg Rikard explained to KPRC. “Really don’t know what he meant by that, but that’s what he said.”
“The officer kept his distance as best he could. Obviously he wasn’t armed, that we could tell,” he added. “We did what we could do. Turned him around and moved him off to the side of the vehicle to get him out of the view of the public.”
“One of the officers mentioned this will probably be my first and only time that I stopped a naked man from operating a unicycle over the Kemah Bridge.”
In dashcam video obtained by The Smoking Gun, a radio dispatcher can be heard describing the suspect who was “riding a unicycle and he’s not wearing any clothes.”
