Likely GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney continued a rocky week of dealing with LGBT issues Friday afternoon, backing away from his previous support of same-sex adoption.
In an interview with CBS affiliate WBTV, Romney mentioned that he was only recognizing that states allow same-sex adoption.
“Well, actually I think all states but one allow gay adoption,” he said. “So that’s a position which has been decided by most of the state legislatures, including the one in my state some time ago. So I simply acknowledge the fact that gay adoption is legal in all states but one.”
