Conservative actor Ben Stein says that President Barack Obama is just not that smart — and he’s certainly not a “presidential genius” like disgraced former President Richard Nixon.

“Barack Obama is a smart man, you would say that, right?” Fox News host Bill O’Reilly asked Stein on Wednesday.

“No, I wouldn’t say that,” Stein replied.

“You wouldn’t even say he’s a smart man, huh?” the Fox News host wondered.

“I would say he’s a smart man,” Stein admitted. “I mean, he’s not in the same league of presidential genius as Nixon, for example, but he’s smarter than the average bear, as they say.”

But regardless of the current president’s intellect, Stein predicted that presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney would lose in November.

“I don’t expect Romney to win. I’d like him to win and I will vote for him, but I think Obama is a far more formidable campaigner. … Obama will swamp him in terms of money raising.”
