When venerable British naturalist and nature film writer David Attenborough appeared on the BBC’s Graham Norton Show, he was presented with a challenge worthy of a man of his eminence.

“Your voice-overs, they elevate things,” Norton began. “They give it kind of an air of seriousness and lightness. And we have a little wildlife clip …”

He proceeded to play a well-known YouTube clip of a small tortoise squealing deliriously as it attempts to mate with a shoe in someone’s back yard, sending both the audience and guest Cameron Diaz into fits of uncontrollable laughter.

Norton then upped the ante, announcing that he was going to add “a bit of music” and call upon Attenborough to provide a fitting voice-over.

“Evening falls on the lush grasslands of Croydon …” Attenborough began.
