When 61-year-old Ole Akesson stepped outside to relieve himself in a stream on the Angraan nature reserve in Sweden, he was startled to find a baby elk looking back at him from the other side of the water. He decided that he wanted a picture.

“I called to my wife to get out the iPad to film the elk, when all of a sudden she screamed that there was a bear behind me,” Akesson told UPI,”I turned around and there was a huge bear right beside me — maybe half a meter away, I could have reached out and touched it — but I didn’t even have time to think.”

The bear, apparently in pursuit of the elk, barreled past and knocked him to the ground while his wife continued to film. Akesson is fine, no worse for wear. The baby elk’s current condition, however, is unknown.
