U.S. Secretary of Commerce John Bryson issued his resignation to the White House on Thursday, citing health problems resulting from a seizure that caused two hit-and-run car accidents earlier this month, according to the National Journal.

Deputy Secretary Rebecca Blank will take over as acting secretary. Politico reporter Abby D. Phillip tweeted that Bryson will meet with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office Thursday at 3:00 p.m.
