While the tea party movement that emerged after the election of Barack Obama and surged into prominence during the health care debate may seem to have fizzled out, the satirical Onion News Network reports that the group has “actually taken to the woods, and are living in caves and old abandoned cabins, waiting for the right moment to jump out and snatch our congressional seats.”

Although “nobody has seen a grandma holding an ‘Obamacare equals socialism’ sign in years,” Thomas Wilkes of the Shuttlesworth Institute for Political Studies said that “just because you can’t see the tea party doesn’t mean they’re not there.”
