
Monday the Supreme Court gutted much of Arizona’s controversial anti-immigration law, SB 1070, also known as the “papers please” law. The Supreme Court upheld the law’s provision which allows law enforcement to check immigration status when stopped.
In a statement, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said, “Today’s decision by the Supreme Court is a victory for the rule of law.” She’s scheduled to make a live statement Monday afternoon.
