Taking a cue from the Harvard baseball team’s viral video parody of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe,” Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-CA) and her 2012 summer interns produced a video almost certainly worthy of MSNBC host Rachel Maddow’s “Best New Thing” segment.

The short clip features Rep. Sanchez sitting at her desk miming the Harvard team’s dance moves as she watches their massively popular YouTube video, when members of her staff suddenly pop up wearing sunglasses and getting jiggy.

“Everyone have a safe and happy 4th of July!” Sanchez cheers as the credits roll, just before some crucial outtakes of staff taking phone calls from constituents while rehearsing their dance moves.

It really must be seen to be believed.
