A D.C. police officer who worked as a motorcycle escort for White House officials is under investigation for allegedly threatening to shoot First Lady Michelle Obama.

The Washington Post reported that the officer allegedly told his colleagues he wanted to shoot the First Lady and described the firearm he would use.

The officer, who has not been identified, was moved to administrative duty amid the investigation.

“We received an allegation that inappropriate comments were made. We are currently investigating the nature of those comments,” D.C. police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump told the Post.

The police department has contacted the U.S. Secret Service, who said they would “conduct appropriate follow-up.” It appears Michelle Obama was not in any immediate danger.
