Members of the first family were in the spotlight for a brief moment while watching the U.S. Olympic mens’ basketball squad Monday night, as President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama were caught in the “kiss-cam.”
According to MSNBC, the Obamas, who attended the U.S. exhibition against Brazil with their daughter Malia and Vice President Joe Biden, needed two tries to get it right for the camera, a staple at live sporting events.
They were highlighted once during the second quarter but did not kiss, prompting some boos from the crowd at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., before sharing a kiss during the fourth quarter.
A longtime basketball fan, the president recently weighed in on the debate over whether this year’s squad could beat the 1992 “Dream Team,” telling ESPN at halftime he thought that group could beat the 2012 team, while adding that he favored this year’s team to win the gold medal at the London games.
