Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin has been placed under police and federal protection after being threatened by a New Jersey man, Newser reports.
Abedin, the secretary of state’s deputy chief of staff, had been accused by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) of infiltrating the U.S. government on behalf of radicals in the Muslim Brotherhood, with Bachmann further saying her family had ties to the organization.
Authorities said the individual, a Muslim, had been questioned by the New York Police Department and the State Department, but has not been charged.
“It exemplifies all the things that Michele Bachmann epitomizes in Washington that’s not working,” Graves said of the incident. “Politics of division, fear-mongering, divisiveness, lack of civility, lack of facts and what have you. It’s not a question of if she’s going to do these things; it’s when.”
