Tony Perkins: Google’s pro-LGBT campaign will ‘search and destroy’ values

The leader of an anti-LGBT Christian think tank on Monday warned that search engine giant Google should be ready for “blow back” over their “Legalize Love” campaign, which targets countries that have anti-homosexuality laws.

“Thanks to a new campaign, Google’s approach to traditional values is to search — and destroy,” Family Research Council President Tony Perkins complained during his daily radio address on Monday.

He continued: “That means actively fighting laws in other countries that aren’t as gay-friendly as Google would like. After watching Target and J.C. Penney take a financial hit after endorsing same sex ‘marriage,’ Google should know better.”

“They can push to ‘Legalize Love,’ but they shouldn’t be surprised by the blow back. Because when it comes to Google, political neutrality is what most users are searching for.”

But Google has not called for marriage equality in the U.S. Instead, the company is focusing on countries where homosexuality is criminalized.

According to CNN, the “Legalize Love” campaign targets “countries like Singapore, where certain homosexual activities are illegal, and Poland, which has no legal recognition of same-sex couples.”

“We want our employees who are gay or lesbian or transgender to have the same experience outside the office as they do in the office,” Google executive Mark Palmer-Edgecumbe recently told an LGBT summit in London.
