Fox News host Bill O’Reilly on Monday blasted PBS host Bill Moyers who after a deadly shooting that left at least 12 dead in Colorado, accused the National Rifle Association (NRA) of turning the Second Amendment into a “cruel and deadly hoax.”

“The killer in Colorado waited only for an opportunity, and there you have it — the arsenal of democracy transformed into the arsenal of death and the NRA — the NRA is the enabler of death — paranoid, delusional, and as venomous as a scorpion,” Moyers had said on Friday. “With the weak-kneed acquiescence of our politicians, the National Rifle Association has turned the Second Amendment of the Constitution into a cruel hoax, a cruel and deadly hoax.”

During his Monday night “Talking Points” segment, O’Reilly accused Moyers of having “no clue, no clue at all.”

“He apparently believes that federal and state governments can actually control gun crimes,” the culture warrior explained. “That’s so dumb it hurts.”

“Nearly 4,000 guns were confiscated by New York City cops [in 2011],” he continued. “Yeah, those tough gun laws, they’re working great, aren’t they? The reason for all that: the perps usually walk because the justice system is so chaotic and the jails are overcrowded. And you know what Bill Moyer’s solution to that is? Let nonviolent criminals out, like heroin delears!”

“You’re a genius, Bill. PBS [is] very lucky to have you.”
