Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I) on Monday is expected to give a speech on the Senate floor to warn that climate change deniers like Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) are making it “impossible to get real work done in the Congress.”

“The bottom line is that when Senator Inhofe says global warming is a hoax, he is just dead wrong according to the vast majority of climate scientists,” Sanders said in a statement released prior to the speech.

“It is time for Congress to get serious about global warming, and to work to transform our energy system. That starts by making sure that in this, the so-called greatest deliberative body, we deliberate with facts not myths.”

Sanders’ remarks are expected to begin after 3 p.m. ET.
