Biden Secret Service U-Haul stolen in Detroit

The Secret Service has reported that a U-Haul truck loaded with equipment for a Monday night appearance by Vice President Joe Biden has been stolen from in Detroit.  According to CNN, the truck was stolen from a hotel parking lot overnight.

Spokesman Ted Donovan said, “A U-Haul that we were utilizing was stolen at the Westin Hotel overnight.”

The vice president is scheduled to speak Monday at a Labor Day rally organized by the Michigan AFL-CIO.

The secret service would not disclose what type of equipment was in the van when it was stolen.

Update: The Secret Service reported on Monday afternoon that the U-Haul had been found outside an apartment parking lot near Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. A spokesperson declined to say whether anything had been stolen.
