Folk singer and guitarist James Taylor helped create a party atmosphere at Democratic National Convention on Thursday afternoon, receiving an enthusiastic response from attendees inside the packed arena.
As the headline music act at the convention in Charlotte, the long-time environmental activist took the stage nearly five hours before President Barack Obama was set accept his second nomination for the presidency.
During his act, Taylor poked fun at Clint Eastwood’s odd speech at the Republican National Convention last week and remarked that he “didn’t get” the coverage of the DNC.
“I mean, I’m an old white guy and I love Barack Obama,” he said.
