A Philadelphia police officer will be required to get more weapons training after a flight attendant’s gun went off at Philadelphia International Airport Sunday.

WCAU-TV reported that the unidentified Republic Airlines attendant had forgotten her gun was inside her bag when she went through a security checkpoint early Sunday morning.

Authorities say she had a legal permit for the gun. She was taken into custody and received a summary citation for disorderly conduct before being released.

According to The Associated Press, the gun fired one round while the officer was trying to take the bullets out, but no one was injured. Internal Affairs is investigating the incident, while the officer, also unidentified, will receive weapons-handling training.

A spokesperson for US Airways, which works with Republic, said another flight attendant was brought onto the flight, which proceeded on schedule from Philadelphia to Dallas, Texas.
