Stewart: Dems want you to know bin Laden is really, really, seriously, totally dead
On a special Friday night edition of “The Daily Show,” host Jon Stewart went over a few of the predominant themes from the Democratic National Convention. As usual there was some hope, some change, some “we can make it if we try” and one other very important fact that the Democratic Party wants you to know loud and clear.
“But after laying out their vision for a renewed American spirit, there was one other thing, they wanted to remind people of,” Stewart said, that Osama bin Laden is really, really dead.
“Yes the Democrats accentuated the non-living-ness of bin Laden in film, in word and I guess, when they got bored of that, in slogan.”
Stewart then rolled a clip of former Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer (D), who said, “Bin Laden isn’t on earth…and he sure isn’t in heaven.” Then to Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) exhorting the crowd to “Ask Osama bin Laden if he’s better off now than he was four years ago.”
Putting on a Kennedy-esque politician’s drawl, Stewart quipped, “I ask you my fellow Americans, what is black and white and killed Osama bin Laden? President Obamaaaaa.”
Other highlights from the convention included Michigan’s Gov. Jennifer Granholm (D) shouting and gesticulating like “a drunk flight attendant,” which to Stewart’s thinking, would make her a highly watchable debate partner (and drunken “hate f*&K”) with over-animated Republican whiner, RNC chairman Reince Priebus.
