Fox News host Bill O’Reilly and The Daily Show host Jon Stewart faced off at the Lisner Auditorium in George Washington University during a televised debate on Saturday night.

Stewart began the debate by blasting Fox News, accusing the conservative networking of creating a false reality that he called “bullshit mountain.”

“The winters on bullshit mountain are long and cold,” he said. “And Christmas, the most ubiquitous holiday in the history of mankind, is under threat on bullshit mountain because somewhere, somehow a parade in Tulsa has changed its name from ‘Christmas’ to ‘holiday.’ I have come here tonight to plea to the mayor of bullshit mountain, talk to your people.”

During the nearly hour and a half-long debate, O’Reilly and Stewart argued about foreign policy, Social Security, Medicare, health care reform and media bias.

O’Reilly insisted in the debate that the government was incompetent in most areas, and therefore most services where best left to private industries. Stewart, on the other hand, argued that it was wrong to assert that government intervention and regulation always produced negative results.
